MCA Invites Public Feedback on Company Law Amendments and Filing Reforms

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has started preparations to make major changes in the rules and procedures related to companies. Under this, the Ministry has sought suggestions and objections from the general public, companies and professionals so that the new rules can be made more practical and simple.

MCA has issued a draft to amend the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014. The objective of this draft is to simplify company registration and related formalities. Any interested person can send their opinion on this through the official website of MCA. The last date for giving suggestions has been fixed as 9 May 2026.

Along with this, the Ministry has started another important consultation process in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. In this, it is being considered to simplify and streamline the entire filing structure under the Companies Act, 2013, so that companies face less difficulty in compliance, and the process becomes more transparent. The last date for sending suggestions on this has been kept as 15 May 2026.

The main objective of this initiative is to make the entire process from company formation to its operation and finally closure easier, faster and digital, thereby improving ease of doing business. Experts believe that such reforms will not only reduce the burden on companies but will also strengthen the business environment in India.
