CBIC Revises Customs Tariff Value Framework by Replacing Existing Tables

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance, has updated an earlier customs-related notification.

The original notification (No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), issued on 3rd August 2001) contained certain tables (TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3) that were used for customs purposes, likely related to tariff values or rates used for assessing import duties.

Now, through Notification No. 54/2026-CUSTOMS (N.T.) dated 11th June 2026, the government has decided to replace those existing tables entirely with new updated tables. This means the old values or structures in those tables will no longer apply, and the new tables will be used instead.

The following will replace Table-1:

Sl. No. Chapter/ heading/ sub-heading/tariff item Description of goods Tariff value (US $ Per Metric Tonne)
1 1511 10 00 Crude Palm Oil 1218 (i.e., no change)
